Submitting Art samples (including lettering, though not all this information suits lettering):

Art samples should contain the following:

  1. A cover letter with all pertinent contact information, along with an introduction of who you are.
  2. A minimum of 6 pages of artwork/inks/colors/letters. At LEAST 3 of which should be comic book pages. Dont send only pin-ups and sketches, but we do want to see as much finished artwork as possible.
  3. A realistic time frame of how long it takes you to draw a page. Times range from 4 hours to 4 days, there is a place for artists of every speed, so please don't misrepresent yourself.
  4. DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS. NO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE RETURNED.

Send hard copies to our submissions editor:

Please allow us plenty of time to get back to you. If you do not hear back within two months, feel free to submit again. In most cases, will not be providing critiques, only either a form letter for those we choose to pass on, or a personal letter to those we accept.

Proposing new comic series:

A proposal for a new comic series should contain the following:

  1. A cover letter with all pertinent contact information, along with an introduction of who you are.
  2. A one page synopsis of the over-all story. This is your pitch, make it count. You want us, and your audience, hooked in the first 5 seconds. Also explain format. Is it a one-shot? A mini-series? A graphic novel? or an ongoing series?
  3. If sending hard copies, please send a minimum of 6 pages worth of 8 1/2 x 11 photocopies of the artwork (cover + 5 interior pages), as well as at least one color sample (if you have a colorist). We prefer to publish color comics, after all, and if you have a good colorist on board, your chances of being published with Gemini Studio are that much greater.
  4. If sending digital files, please send the same, along with links to your artists other works so we can judge consistency. PLEASE SUBMIT HOT LINKS WHENEVER POSSIBLE.

NO UNSOLICITED PROPOSALS/SUBMISSIONS WILL BE RETURNED. DO NOT INCLUDE A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE.

Comics accepted by Gemini are required to have at least two books fully penciled before we will solicit. We are not genre-specific, but we ardently maintain a 'PG-13 or better' standard to our books. If your book has naked women running around cursing like sailors and cutting people in half with their broad swords... Then you're better off not submitting it to Gemini.

Thank you for your time and interest in submitting to Gemini Studio
